On Friday after school we put our suits on and took a flight to Venice. A couple of months ago someone came up with the idea of taking a weekend trip to Italy and I thank that person for the amazing trip we had.
Friday night we arrived at the apartment in Mestre a city on the mainland. Saturday morning we got up and took the bus into Venice. Even though it's pretty easy to get lost in the winding streets in the city we managed to see the main attractions in Venice, although we had some help from a couple of Italians. Even so we managed to walk around in circles and end up where we started. I would say if you go to Venice, follow the signs to get to your destination even if the signs tell you to take four right turns in a row.
On Sunday we continued exploring and took a gondola ride on the canal grande. It was definitely worth seeing the city from the water too. Monday we checked out from our apartment and did some last minute souvenir shopping and walked around in the rain with our umbrellas.
